Use for: sudden soft or loose stool (diarrhea) in an otherwise healthy dog or cat, from stress, a diet change, travel, boarding, or getting into something in the yard.
Best for: pets already on a daily prebiotic or probiotic. You have the daily gut support covered; this is the fast-acting part.
Not for: vomiting, blood in the stool, a pet who will not eat or drink, or diarrhea that lasts more than 24 hours. Those need a veterinarian, not a syringe.
What can I give my dog for diarrhea at home? This is my answer for the healthy dog or cat who ate something they should not have, or whose stool went loose after a stressful day. DiaGel is the fast-acting anti-diarrheal gel I reach for first in these cases, and two syringes is the full course: one at the first sign of loose stool, and a second four to six hours later. One syringe is rarely enough, which is why I package it as a pair.

Kit Contents:
- 2 DiaGel syringes, sized for your pet, to support normal stool consistency during occasional digestive upset. DiaGel works quickly to soothe the digestive tract and support normal bowel function, and it is NASC-audited and free of antibiotics.
Directions for Use:
- Remove the syringe tip cap. Place the syringe between the side teeth, aiming as far back on the tongue as possible, and gently push the plunger. Discard the syringe after use.
- Give the first syringe at the first sign of loose stool. Give the second syringe 4 to 6 hours after the first.
- Keep your pet's daily prebiotic or probiotic going as usual. If you are not using one, start one; a course of fiber and probiotic after a bout of diarrhea helps the gut settle back to normal.
- Pre-stress use: give 1 syringe 2 hours before a known trigger such as travel or boarding, and keep the second on hand.
- If loose stool continues past 24 hours, or your pet vomits, strains, passes blood, or stops eating or drinking, stop and call your veterinarian.
Ensure cats receive the cat-specific DiaGel and dogs receive their species- and weight-specific syringe. Syringes are not interchangeable between species or sizes.
